the breast clinic will carry out a mammogram, a physical exam and an ultrasound. If they are unsure about what they see they will then do a biopsy. Everyone is told it can take up to 3 hours so don’t read too much into that - it’s standard practice.

Hoping you will be in the majority who visit the breast clinic and get the ‘all clear’

Hi Maggiemaggie,.  Thank you ever so much for replying. If they did need to do a biopsy, would they do it the same day as first mammogram, or on a different day ? X

My breast clinic is a ‘one stop shop’ so had my biopsies the same time as mammogram etc. Given that you’ve been told 1-3 hours I would expect that any biopsies will be carried out at the same time also.

Thanks Magpie Maggie. Sorry to sound such a wimp. :-) X I am a self-emplyed gardener and was wondering if you have to rest your arm for very long after a biopsy (If I do need a biopsy ). Thanks in advance Tina :-)) X

My biopsy would have meant i couldn’t do something like gardening as I bled a lot and mine was a separate appointment .. think lots depends on the area and your case / you

Sorry Tinsy my biopsies were on my breasts, the ultrasound showed nothing suspicious in my nodes. I had lymph nodes removed and was told not lift anything heavier than a kettle, not sure if that would be the same if it was just a biopsy, You’d need to ask the experts about that one.:)
