  • I am sorry to hear that you have colon cancer. You can access posts from others with this diagnosis by typing in colon cancer in  "search forum" on the purple strip at the top of the page. What has carrot juice got to do with cancer if you don't mind me asking? Max

  • Dear Max,

Thank you for replying to my email.

One who has no option depends on others advise. On internet  few people have mentioned that they had Carrot  Juice and their Cancer vanished, thus I just wanted to know if any body in the form has any information about it.

    Kind Regards

  • I am sorry to hear that you have no treatment options available to you. If you email the moderators they will give you a link to any information they may have on alternative and natural therapy. Or you can ring the nurses on the number shown at the bottom of this page - it is free to call from the UK.

I hope you get the information and support you need x

  • Hi SMA,

We do have some information for you on carrot juice! :)
The molecule found in carrots that scientists have been interested in studying is an antioxidant called beta-carotene. Some scientists have shown that at high doses beta-carotene can kill bowel cancer cells grown in the lab (for example here). But there’s no evidence that beta-carotene has any cancer fighting properties in patients. In addition, there’s evidence that the effects of antioxidants on cancer cells are complex could make some types of cancer more aggressive and interfere with certain treatments like chemotherapy and radiotherapy as you can read here. There are lots of claims about ‘miracle cures’ to be found – but there’s often no scientific evidence to back up these claims. Find out more here. If you are being treated for cancer, our recommendation is to try and keep a healthy, balanced diet – we have written about this on our blog.

If you are considering making any changes to your diet, the best person to speak to about it is your doctor or a dietician, or you are welcome to give our nurses a call - if you live in the UK you can reach them on this free number 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

    I hope this helps!

    Best wishes,

  • Dear Moderator Luci ,

Thank you for broad information you provided which I am trying to go through , 99% information per information has no clinical evidence , but these people ( nutrition therapists ) on You tube very boldly  said us Have93% cure rates which does seem to surprise with me .

    Kind Regards

  • Hi. Noticed your post I'm new. .did you carry on with the carrot juice did it work. Regards

  • Rim

I've got stage 4 colon cancer and have completed 6 chemo treatments. I recently have stopped my chemo but have continued with drinking fresh carrot juice each day. I drink 5 glasses each day. My next CT scan will be at the end of August and that should tell me if the carrot juice is working. If you'd like I'll keep you posted.

    Barry

  • Hi Barry - Please keep us posted on your CT scan and if the carrot juice is working. My husband is also diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer since July and we have been juicing carrot juice (4-5 cups) a day. We will have a scan in Sept to see if it might be working.
