Irregular bleeding

Hi I was just wondering if anyone has had anything similar. I had the contraceptive injection in October 2019 and bled continuously the whole 3 months( which I've never had previously having it). I then decided not to have it again due to the bleeding. I then never had any bleeding for 4 months. After the 4 months of not bleeding I'm now having really irregular periods the space in between periods was every week then 4 days and now I'm bleeding constantly. I've been to my gp and they requested I have blood tests which came back abnormal but the doctor said they were acceptable?? Im also waiting on a scan which I've been waiting for over a month for an appointment ( and still am waiting) I'm just really concerned as I'm in a lot of pain in the ovary area and have been since the start of year. I've had problems like this for the past 5 years now since I was 18 years old with pelvic pain etc but never had irregular bleeding before. I have had a scan previously and cysts were found on my ovaries but I was never told about this until I was pregnant a year or so later. I then had another scan in 2019 and they were gone. Im not old enough to have a smear as I'm only 23 but I'm really concerned that something is wrong and I have gut feeling that there is but I feel I'm not being taken seriously.

  • Hello Corycxo,

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I hope you won't have to wait much longer for your scan. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you at the moment.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
