Hi I was diagnosed a few months ago with high grade DCIS, was told I needed surgery (mammoplasty left breast) and radiotherapy. I had to wait months for the operation, they said it wasn’t urgent and couldn’t fit me in earlier. I was really stressed about the operation and scared, but I got through that well and all the bad cells in left breast have been found to be removed with clear margin. But Histology results I’ve had so far have shown 3mm of invasive cancer was found and now I need another operation to check lymph nodes. I’m terrified about the results, they say unlikely to have spread but the news I’ve has this week was supposed to be unlikely and having to wait so long for the results i don’t know how I’m going to get through it.

I know they caught it early and I’m lucky for that but I’ve lost faith in the professionals and am consumed with negative thoughts. Grateful for any advice from anyone who has gone through similar.
