Incurable lung cancer but tumours have shrunk?

Hi, my husband was diagnosed with incurable lung cancer back in May, it's in his lung, chest and has spread to the lining of his brain. We were told he probably had less than a year to live, however, we've just been told that after first series of chemo the tumours have shrunk by 20%.  Does this mean he is responding well and the one year prognosis is now wrong?

  • Hi I was diagnosed with breast cancer stage 4 with mets in my lungs. That was in May 2019!!!I am on chemo since August 2019 and my tumors still shrinking or dissapearing.m according my last scan in August.I wasnt told the prognosis and I dont want to know but the fact that the tumors are shrinking is a good news.I am.not giving up hopes. So your hubby needs fighting.Very often the doctors are wrong and 1 year is only estimated. Many people lives with cancer many years.i was told if this chemo stops working I will have another kind of chemo. So don't give up.
