Inadequate knowledge relating to Cancer

My husband was diagnosed with Ca of the lungs in Decembe 2016.  He subsequently lost his fight on 18 July 2018.  Then earlier this month my friend of many years was diagnosed with Ca of the breast with metastisis to the C2 vertebrae and nodules under her left arm.

I was there when her Oncologist came to see her and dumb-struck at this wonderful Oncologist and her willingness to share information with her patient.

The exposure we had to Oncologists was that they (the 2 we have seen) are cold and calculated.  It made me wonder that if my husband had the priviledge to speak to an oncologist like the one I met earlier this week, if that would not have helped him to change his mind regarding chemotherapy.  It really breaks my heart to think that maybe there could have been another road for us to travel than the one he chose.

Having cared for him like a mother does for her baby, and seeing him die day by day and really suffering, I now sit with a lot of unanswered questions.

Thanking for allowing to get something off my chest.

Regards,

Sarie
