I’m worried can you help?

Hi,

im new to this forum. My best friend has double breast cancer and recently underwent 6 hour surgery to remove both lumps from each breast. She’s been back today to see her consultant to find out the sad news that her cancer has gone into all 8 lymph nodes under her arms. I’m so sad for her she’s gutted, she’s been told they will remove her lymph nodes and she will have another scan and undergo chemotherapy. I’m so sad for her and trying my best to stay strong but she’s also quiet stubborn and won’t access any support groups or help even though she needs it now more than ever. Has anyone been in this position before I need to know if my friend will be ok and how I can support her xxx thank you xxxx

  • Hi there ..

So sorry your friend has joined this cancer club we all wish we didn't need .. but there's lots of us breast lasses on here .. so don't give up hope ..

I'm affriad all you can do for her , is let her take things at her pace .. she will probly be up one minute and down the next .. that's why we say it's like a rollercoaster ride .. a scary rollercoaster ride... but we all take and process things differently .. and as much as your trying to help, she will do things her way, as it's her cancer .. so a good buddy .. holds our hand through it .. let's her lead the way .. and just be there .. you can't make it better, or take it away .. but just knowing your there, will mean more then you know...

You sound a very caring wonderful friend .. but the trouble is, when we get diagnosed it's all new to us .. and we just hold on any way we can ... there's lots living after cancer .. so hold on in there .. Chrissie x
