I'm due a reversal in about 2 months. I only read on here about problems people have. Does anyone have good stories to tell? If all these bad results are the norm, it makes me wonder why surgeons offer a reversal. Would appreciate any advice

Hi,
I had a reversal in 2014. I am not saying it is plain sailing but in general I have had few problems. Initially you need to be near a loo while your guts settle down. After that it is a case of working out what you can eat which doesn't give problems.
My diet has been pretty much normal since then. I eat what I always used to. Occasionally I will have a day when things are a little hairy, and I don't really know what triggers it, but they are fairly rare.
Whatever the issues, for me they are much better that having the bag?
Thanks for that, it is reassuring to hear. I know there will some problems initially but was concerned if they didn't settle down. I wonder if people ever decide to go back to a bag? Thanks
I suppose it depends how bad it all is. I didn't enjoy the bag. I could cope, but was limiting and made my main hobby difficult. I hope it all goes well for you
Thanks, that's appreciated
Hello
my reversal was done 5 years ago and my bowel is still changing, mine was a resection of the lower bowel. It has not been helped as l lost my gallbladder due to spread to the liver, and just my luck to have highly productive bile output .It has been a challenge but l would still make the same decision today, the bag was a nightmare and the freedom without it is bliss.Life no longer completely revolves around distance to a toilet,
