    Hi there,

    Welcome to the forum,

I am so sorry to hear about your cancer diagnosis. No matter how well prepared we are to hear this news it always seems to hit us like a bolt out of the blue. You will probably find that you experience a whole raft of different emotions in the coming weeks. Don't worry about these. They are a perfectly natural reaction to such devastating news.

Some people want to know exactly what their prognosis is, while others, like yourself , don't want to know. Neither way is wrong. What is good is your positive attitude to treatment. I hope that you can keep your positivity going and that you get a good outcome.

Please keep us informed as to how you get on. There is always someone here whenever you feel like talking.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Thank you

    dose immunotherapy work x

  • My wife has lung cancer. Diagnosed Feb last year. Chemo was easy peasy, results were excellent.  Radiotherapy changed her permanently. Towards the end of that she was hospitalised 3 times for checks, and cover their backss. 4 session of Immuno and she is majorly TIRED. Sluggish, a changed person. No appetite..It's hard to witness to be honest. We wait and hope for some signs of progress.

  • Hi Immunotherapy,

I have not had radiotherapy, chemo or immunotherapy so I cannot really answer your question. Success  seems to depend on so many different factors, such as age of patient, grade, stage and type of cancer, general health of the patient, etc. These treatments seem to work for some but not for all.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

    Hi Alsdouble,

I am so sorry to hear about your wife's lung cancer and how she has reacted to radiotherapy and immunotherapy, despite doing so well with chemo. It is heartbreaking to watch these changes and to be unable to change things.

I sincerely hope that you will see some signs of progress soon.

Thinking of and praying for you both.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine

  • Hi, I am having a very similar situation with my Pops, he did chemo, then radiotherapy but is now on his 4th round for Immunotherapy and has become very confused, memory loss and alsmost like dementia, can i ask if your wifes improved after the immunotherapy at all? We arent sure if its the pain relief? Kindest Gem

    Hi Gems,

I am so sorry to hear that you are having to deal with this situation with your Pops. lsdouble's post was almost two years ago, so you may not get a reply. Have you spoken to your Pop's care team? They should be able to tell you whether you can expect any improvement after immunotherapy or not, or if his symptoms are due to his pain relief.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. This is such a difficult time for you. Please remember that we are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Ahh I didn't realise, thank you. X

yeah we've talked to his care team and they are looking to reduce the drugs we believe to be causing it and try a patch alternative x They are also requesting a brain scan and bloods to see what's going on x Just heartbreaking.. as is mesothelioma isn't bad enough but to loose some of yourself as well is just cruel x

    Thank you xx
