Husband Diagnosed

Hi there my husband was diagnosed last week with secondary cancer in his lymph nodes. The initial thought was that the primary site was in the breast but this has been ruled out. CT and MRI scans done today to try to locate the primary cancer.

I have 2 concerns really...

1. Does anyone have any advice on how we deal with this uncertainty?

2. Our son who is 26 appears to be raging against the world. How can I help him?

Many thanks

  • Hi there Julie and welcome to the forum

i had a secondary cancer turn up in a right lymph node in my neck ... I had and exploritory examination, ct scan and petct scan (that’s different) and a primary could not be found

apparent it happens so don’t be spuprised if they don’t find a primary

as for dealing with the uncertainty ... you don’t, but you have to just to try and stay sane during this initial testing process

You at at the worst point of this testing process, knowing what you have, but not really knowing and therefore trying to deal with everything

you will soon get an answer and once this comes a treatment plan will be hatched

i am now 3 years post treatment for throat cancer and doing well

shout if you need to or just ask away, there is always someone on here to listen to you

keep us informed as to how it goes for you
