Hpv positive and low grade dyskaryosis

Hi I’ve received my smear results and been told I’ve got low grade dyskaryosis and tested hpv positive... I also tested hpv positive on my first smear 3 years ago and worried that my body cannot fight it off which I’ve read is not a good thing??? Has anyone else got the same thing who also can’t seem to get rid of the hpv?? I have really bad anxiety and cannot stop thinking about it and worrying I will get cancer! My colposcopy appointment isn’t for 3 weeks and I’m hoping someone who has been through the same could reassure me??

Hi there. I too had low grade changes and HPV. What they usually do is check the cells on your cervix to see if anything needs to be treated. Usually though they will see there is nothing there and to do a watch and wait for 6 months/a year. The nurses I had were lovely so please don’t worry. I was so scared when I got the letter and I’ve feedback to the NHS about the wording of it.

Hi. I hope this helps but I am in a similar position. It is my first hpv positive test and reading about it has been terrifying. My colposcopy appointment is on the 18th March and trying not to worry. The sharing is helping and hope this helps you too. You are not alone.
