How to live with someone with myeloma

Hi there

My partner was diagnosed with myeloma. He is in his 4th cicle of the treatment. His blood results are looking better, but he doesn' t feel well at all. He cannot work and support our family anymore and he is in a really bad state worrying and thinking. He cannot sleep at all.

Can someone help with advice or personal experience- what is the best thing for me to do. I already do everything in the house and increased my hours at work, but don't know what shall we do...how are we going to live...etc

  • Hello KimKim,

Welcome to Cancer Chat although I am sorry for the reason that brings you to our forum.

We have some general information on myeloma here and also a section that discusses different types of emotional and practical support available for patients and their carers.

I also noticed that [@Taff]‍ replied to your other post as they have been diagnosed with myeloma themselvs so it might be a good idea for you to chat?

And if you feel that talking to someone on the phone might help do give our cancer nurses a call. Their telephone number is 0808 800 4040 and the line is open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

I hope this helps a little, KimKim. And please know you are not alone, we will always be just a click away whenever you need a chat.

Best wishes to both you and your husband,

    Renata, Cancer Chat Moderator
