Horrendous Failed Colonoscopy.

Hi guys,

I have near enough the same experience as ELLY123 from 2 years ago.

Today I went in think after reading on this forum that there would not be an issue and a painless but uncomfortable procedure.

I had my Midazalam and Fentanyl also Gas and Air as well as numbing the rectum due to the Moviprep.

They got as far as my sigmoid took 4 biopsies and had to take to scope out and abandon the procedure, this was simply to do

with the pain management not working for me. I felt everything. I am a mother of 6 and would have another 6 babies than go through that again. Its theworse pain I have ever felt in my life.

I am now looking at another appointment for a CT scan. So I guess I will have to stay in pain for much longer.

I actually think a procedure like this patients should be put to sleep for it to be completed.

What I will say is that I was very well looked after. The consultants and nursing staff were all amazing and thank you so much. Its not their fault my body could not handle such horrendous pain.

  • Hi jules310766,

I'm sorry to hear you had such a difficult experience with this. It's good that the medical team were helpful, and hopefully it's not too long to wait for your next appointment. I hope you can get the answers and also the relief from the pain that you need soon.

    Wishing you all the best,
