hormone therapy

Men having prostate cancer.

Afer 2 years of hormone therapy I'm recovering since April 1.

My mood changes are disappearing but still I have hot flashes. My impression is that these hot flashes are more severe.

How long does it take to have no more hot flashes? Any one with experiences?

  • Hi Leo,

I also had two years on hormone therapy (zolodex) and four years after finishing my treatment, I am still having a few hot flushes. They are not as frequent as they used to be but I still get them. I do sympathize but the way I have dealt with all the side effects is to look on it as a small price to pay for the good results I have had. My psa was 70; gleeson of 3+3=6 and a few weeks after finishing the 37 radiotherapy treatments, my psa was only 0.01, the lowest they can measure.

I wish you good results too. Having had prostate cancer has made me more appreciative of what I have and am enjoying my life more than ever. Please keep in touch.

Sending best wishes and kind thoughts your way, Brian
