Hi, nervous as I found a lump

Hi, I am in a bit of turmoil. I have read some of your inspiring posts and they helped this afternoon. (Thank you)

I found a lump last Friday (11th), went to see GP on Monday  because it is irregular in shape, solid and not painful. It is at the 6 oclock position on my right breast. She has referred me for a mammogram, maybe ultrasound scan and biopsy. Obviously I understand that 80% of lumps are not cancerous but I can't help but worry.

I came home and checked again thinking maybe I was making it up and it was a nodule or something but there it was. Then yesterday after the bath I noticed my left breast was tender around my aerole so I felt around and there is a larger lump under there. That feels like a cyst. I do suffer with cysts and boils so I am hoping it is just that.

I can't shake the feeling that the right one is something else although I don't present with any redness, dimpling or any other sign.

I know there are no answers until the mammogram, I just wanted to get it out of my head to maybe stop crying and feeling sorry for myself.

I know after the test my hubby can delight in saying 'I told you so,' but until then I am petrified.

Thank you for reading
