Hi all.

Whirlwind is the most appropriate description. From calling my gp on a Wednesday morning, and being given an appointment for just over an hour later, I had a consultation and bloods for markers etc on the Friday, ultrasound, full body ct scan and pre op during the following week, and  surgery the next Tuesday, so all under 2 weeks.  My head is still spinning, and as yet, I still have no actual diagnosis, but cancer and lymphoma have been mentioned, and a referral to oncology by the surgeon who treated me.

  • Hello hopefullynot,

not a great position to find yourself in with the only current positive being that you are not posting about the slowness of medical response,

good luck and hopefully its better news than you fear at the moment,

                                                                                                                            David

  • Thanks David.

I can't fault the standard and speed of the care and treatment I've been shown by everyone I've seen on my journey so far.

I had bloods taken on Tuesday for post op markers for comparison.

I've also seen a letter from my surgeon asking MDT to discuss my case, and he referred me to oncology.  My marker numbers from pre op are in the letter, but I have no idea what they mean, or how they would work with the ct images etc , so no clues there for me.

Patience is an ongoing study for me, and distraction tactics are never forgotten

  • Time passes, and the cycle continues.  With all the information collated and studied, and discussed with the relevant professionals, it seems that my diligence has paid off, as we caught it early, surgery was successful, and 1 cycle of chemo should be enough, and will probably happen in the next few weeks.
