    Hi Lynne.

A very warm welcome to Cancer Chat. Can you expand a little on the typre  and stage of breast cancer,  and what surgery and  treatment you have had? This way we should be able to find someone who is going through the same experience as yourself.

We are always here for you whenever you want to talk.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi I was diagnosed in sept with breast cancer stage 1. I’ve had 2 sessions of chemo got another 6 to go. Will have a lumpectomy after chemo .

    Hi Lynne,

I’m glad to hear that you have caught this early. What did your surgery involve – was it a lumpectomy or a mastectomy and do you know what type of breast cancer you have?  Were any of your lymph nodes involvd or not? How are you coping with the Letrozole?

I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the same breast. The first was 7 years ago and was followed by Tamoxifen. Almost a year to the day later, I found a second lump. This time I had a double mastectomy followed by Letrozole for 6 years. I have just finished taking Letrozole earlier this year.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

    Hi Sandra,

We’ve spoken before elsewhere on the forum. I see that you have asked Lynne this question, but I presume that you were asking me. Yes, I finished taking Letrozole about 6 months ago.

I am glad to see that you are over ¾-way through your radiotherapy and hope that you are coping well with it. I’m doing fine thanks. I had a scare a few weeks ago, but fortunately all seems ok now – I just have to wait on the results of some blood tests, which should be back this week.

Again, you are catching your cancer fairly early, when it is a grade 2. The earlier you detect it and get it treated, the better the outcome should be.

Stay strong – It won’t be that long now until the radiotherapy is behind you.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Shirl,

Again, it is good to hear that your breast cancer is stage 1.

How are you getting on with your chemo? I hope that it will have shrunk your tumour when you get to the end of your course.

Please keep in touch and let us know the outcome.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Jolamine.

Only had 2 sessions of chemo and ended up in hospital both times. Doctor said I’m on a high dose of treatment and my body isn’t coping with it. Going to tweet things for next time. It’s hard but hopefully things will be ok.

    Hi Shirley,

It is pretty tough going, but should be worth it in the end. I hope that the doctor can tweak things to make it more bearable.

    Stay strong.

    Kind regards,
