Hemithyroidectomy - is no news good news?

Hi all

I had my left thyroid lobe & nodule removed on Tuesday & just wondering when others received their results? 

Consultant said it would be around 2 weeks & i will get them during my 2 week follow up appointment but I know that others have received a phone call & much earlier appointment when results are positive for thyroid cancer. 

When did you receive your results/diagnosis? Am I right to think no news is good news?

    Hello Joll_M, 

    I hope you are recovering well from your hemithyroidectomy and that the procedure went well. It won't be too long now before you see the consultant and get some definite answers. 

    It's difficult to read anything into the fact you haven't heard anything yet or to be sure as what this means but I hope others who have had a hemithyroidectomy before will share their own experience of how long they had to wait to receive a diagnosis. 

    I am keeping everything crossed for you that you receive some good news when you see the consultant.
