Hair growing back on docetaxel

I was diagnosed with bc in September last year, I started on FEC and out came some of my hair, therefore I made the decision to have it shaved off to like a grade one length, since then my hair has been like dormant it’s not grown and it’s not completely fell out either. I had 4 cycles of FEC and I have now started  on PHD (Pertuzamab, Herceptin and Docetaxel) I am on my 2nd cycle and have 2 left and I have noticed my hair is starting to grow back! Has anyone else had this? I assumed it wouldn’t grow until after all my chemo,

  • Hi casaicp6,

I just wanted to let you know that we have quite a few discussions about the side effects of these chemo drugs on the forum which you can find by using the 'search forum' option above. I know quite a few members have experience of hair loss/re-growth during their cancer journeys and hopefully some of them will be along soon to share their experiences with you.

Our cancer nurses may be able to give some insight in to why this may be happening so do give them a call next week if you'd like to chat to them about this. Their freephone number is 0808 800 4040 and are available weekdays between 9a.m - 5p.m.

I hope you hear from other members soon and that the rest of your treatment goes well.

    Kind regards,
