Hi
I made my first post here to say hi to you all www.cancerresearchuk.org/.../hello-34
I have been using high dose 4mg nicotine lozenges and gum, about 12 times a day for a few years.
Before that I vaped, and before that I smoked heavily for nearly 20 years.
I got a painless lump where I keep the lozenge in my mouth, in my inner lower cheek. The lump is the size of a match head but grew, yet sometimes flattened when I brushed my teeth.
I saw my GP mid march who said he thought is was an athmous ulcer (SP?) and was nice and reassuring saying he didn't think it was anything sinister. He asked me to come back in 2 weeks if it hadnt gone.
2 weeks later, it still hadn't gone, so he referred me for a biopsy which I have had today.
They numbed me up and said it would be sore afterwards, but it isnt. They put dissolvable stitches in my mouth.
They said they could not tell me when the results would come, I would get a letter and/or phone call.
I have a poor diet as I have poor cooking facilities and can only eat certain foods. I've lost a lot of weight in the last few years, half my body weight.
I have some questions please?
If they find cancer, do they tell you as soon as possible?
If it is cancer, how soon would they tell me?
From member's own experience, how long do results take to come?
The waiting is agony.
Many thanks for reading this
