Grandad has bronchus carcinoma

My grandad has been ill since Nov, after endless test, ct scans, they found 2 nodules one in the lower lobe, the other in the upper lobe, when he was in hospital they said possible cancer but cant do any further testing because he is too frail. Was released from hospital last week saying he needs palliative care, we book into our GP to ask about this team, only for him to tell us he has bronchus carcinoma, I'm in shock I don't know what you think! Head shot ain't the word! What is to be expected because I have loads of questions but no answers

  • Welcome to the forum 0102bayley although I'm sorry to hear about your grandad's diagnosis and for the reason you find yourself here.

It's understandable you would a lot have questions about what to expect and I just wanted to give you our cancer nurses telephone number in case you wanted to chat with them about this next week. Their number is 0808 800 4040 and they are available Monday - Fridays (except bank holidays) between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Many of our members will know what you're going through at the moment having been in the same situation with their family members and hopefully some of them will be along soon to offer their support and share their experiences with you.

    Kind Regards,
