Gist cancer

Hi all.

my husband had a 10cm gist tumour removed over 9 weeks ago and we are waiting for ct results to see if spread to the liver. I am finding it hard to speak to his doctors and key worker. I feel there is no support. We were told he would have a pet scan and now been told there is no funding for this. We have not even seen oncologist yet and it's been weeks. I am loosing faith that things are not moving fast enough. He was told he is intermediate risk and that's all we have to go on.

i am doing my very best to support and be positive when he is around me. Different story when he is  not.

  • A warm welcome to Cancer Chat, Vonhappy, although I'm sorry for the reason that has brought you here.

The waiting game can be very trying and this is something many of our members can relate to. I hope some of them will be soon stopping by to offer their support and share their experiences with you.

I'm wondering if by now you received any news about your husband's CT scan?

When you do, please come back and let us know what they said.

Best wishes to you and your husband.

  • Thank you so much for the warm welcome. The appointment now is for next week after some very persistent calls and concerns. We just wish they communicated better with us. We want to feel we are all part of the same team and working closely together.

i am frightened as this a rare cancer and we have no idea the extent of the cancer. We are just left thinking the worse and desperate for the best.

Will update the moment we have have the results and a way forward
