Found large lump

Hello, I found a large lump on the side of my left breast on Monday . It is about 4 cm and I have not noticed it before . I find it hard to believe I have never noticed it as it is so large . It feels like an oval

shape and is quite hard. It is just underneath my armpit. I didn't think it moved but my GP said that it is slightly mobile. I saw the GP straight away and he referred me down the 2 week rule . I am having my tests done on Thursday and am absolutely petrified. I have not been feeling well lately but put it all down to having constipation which I'm taking medication for. I have convinced myself it is cancer . I am 58 , have two children and my daughter is only 19 and still at home.

    Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand this must be unsettling - the uncertainty and waiting for information is never easy. It's good to hear you've got it checked out and that it's not too long to wait for the appointment. I know it's easy to say but try not to worry too much - it isn't definitely one thing or another at this point. 

    There is some information here about what to expect at your appointment in case it's helpful.

    There will be many others here who have been through something similar - hopefully others will be along soon with replies but otherwise you can always browse the forum for similar discussions.

    Some people say it helps to keep busy while waiting for the appointment, to keep your mind off things.
