Food and comfort

Hi so I posted before about my aunt being diagnosed. Today she had the lump removed for further tests and she's coming to stay at my house for close monitoring. The trouble is I don't know what to cook for dinner. Do I cook something extremely healthy with lots of vegetables or do I just make a regular meal. I know that before she was diagnosed she followed a strict diet and I'm not sure if I should stick to her previous diet or if I should make something else. Please please please can someone. Anyone reply asap xxx

  • Hi there ... maybe give her a ring, and ask her if she'd like anything in particular and what she would like ... what a wonderful nephew you are ...  but recon shed be happy with anything too ... x ; ))

  • Hi the oncologist and dietician said to us on Friday the main thing for my husband is protein and calories, calories, calories!! Not terribly worried at the moment about healthy food and diet. My husband has no appetite but also has mouth problems everything is a struggle for him to eat. Just go with anything at all she wants to eat. You don't want her to get to the stage my husband was at having to have s feed tube fitted. Although that was a life saver for him at the time!! Also if she can't eat there are dietry supplements my husband has tried lots and found fortisips compact the best. High protein and calories in a drink of just 125,ml. But they are supplements not meal replacements. Hope that helps.
