FNA result - Suspicious Hurthle Cell Onocytic Neoplasm

Hi I just received the results stating my thryoid nodule has suspicious hurthle cell neoplasm Thy3f/bethesda IV.

Has anyone else received this? Did you have a full thyroidectomy or a lobectomy? I'm getting mixed messages in the best course of action.

Thanks in advance,

Stephanie

  • Hi Stephanie.

Welcome to the forum although I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis.

Hürthle cell cancers are a rare type of thyroid cancer with about 4 out of every 100 cases of thyroid cancer (4%) being this type. I've had a look through the forum and unfortunately I'm not able to find any other active members with this diagnosis.

We do have a team of specialist nurses available and I wonder if you mind find it helpful to give them a call to chat things through with. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

    Best wishes,
