FLOT-any good?

hi folks,

On the incredible rollercoaster of husbands oesophageal cancer. 5 weeks after diagnosis & staging, had first sesh of FLOT last Friday. Pretty slick ‘operation’ impressive.

He is okay. Blotto on Sunday and Monday, but felling ‘better’ today ,sense of humour (essential in this) is back. Has the PICC in and if anyone shows an interest in it , he tells them “ I took a bullet “.

I gather FLOT is a pretty new combo, but what I would like info on is , is it any good, does it work ?Husband says his swallow already much better, i’ve Noticed he is gagging a lot less. Any info on the ‘human’ side of FLOT would be useful

thanx

  • Hello Hilts
I'm glad to hear that despite your husband's diagnosis things are going smoothly with his treatment and that he feels that he's noticing some improvement already.

I'm sure that we have some members here on the forum who have experience with FLOT and hopefully they will post to share their experiences with you. You could also use the forum serarch function to look for FLOT; you'll be able to read lots of posts where people have mentioned it.

There's also some really userful information on the Macmillan website which I've linked for you here

If you'd like to talk to our nurses then you're most welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
I hope that things continue to go well.
    Best wishes,

  • HI Jen,

Thanks for coming back.  I have looked through the search for FLOT and have posted previously where one of your crew gave me a few persons names.  I have to confess, i don' like messaging people out of the blue, especially if they have not posted for a good long while!

Hopefully someone might come along with a retrospective experience of FLOT!
