Finding it hard - BC diagnosis

10 Mar 2019 10:23 in response to Marlyn

Thank you Marlyn and for your honesty. I really admire that you're able to help with your invaluable advice.

I need to take off my rose tinted glasses that she will get through this as straightforward as I did.

I'll prepare myself for the worst case treatment plan and anything less will be a bonus.

Thank you for your help and support - Irene x

Hi Chrissie,

I had to laugh at your suggestion. You’ve given me a good idea if I don’t get anywhere with the hospital tomorrow.

Why does it have to be local – what’s wrong with going national? I can just imagine the headlines – Boobless Brigade hone in on Westminster!

Regards,

Jolamine xx

Thank you to all my lovely friends on here.

Yes, I got down here safely and so glad to see her. She’s amazingly calm and I have to admit I’ve managed to hold my emotions in check probably because she’s so calm. We’ve had a few laughs.

I took her for guide wire yesterday afternoon and then again this morning for dye. Her husband has just taken her back to hospital now for the op scheduled for this afternoon.

She should be home later tonight.

i think the real emotion will kick in when she gets her results on April 3rd and she knows her treatment plan. They have talked about chemo and rads to her but they’re doing an oncotype test to see what the chances of recurrence are. Being so young I think they’ll take a belt and braces approach. Told her though that the cancer will be gone tonight and anything else is her insurance for a long and healthy future.

She says she doesn’t give a stuff (politely) what it takes as long as it’s gone.

Thank you all for being so caring and supportive. I’ll keep you updated - Irene x

Irene,

now the waiting, bet your pacing the floor. Yes, by tonight her cancer has gone, a step in the right direction, chemo was belt and braces for me too, throw  everything at it right now...write this year off...everything on hold....get better, get stronger, ready for the rest of my life....and it sounds like your lovely daughter feels the same....with you by her side she can take on the world....

sending all the very best good stuff I can muster.....let us know when she's home? Xxxxx

Hii Irene,

I'm glad to hear that all is going ahead as we speak. It sounds like, given the circumstances, a belt and braces is the best approach.

I don't think that you could have any better advice than that which Marilyn has given you "throw everything at it right now...write this year off...everything on hold....get better, get stronger, ready for the rest of my life....and it sounds like your lovely daughter feels the same....with you by her side she can take on the world"

I hope that all goes well today and, that the results are not too untoward.

Thinking of and praying for you all.

Kind regards,

Jolamine xx

All good and my daughters home now. She looks shattered. It seems that nothing was more than they expected and the lymph nodes are clear ......phew

other than that it will be the 3rd April when she gets her treatment plan.

Another wait but we’re all used to that on here.

Once again your support is invaluable to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart - Irene x

Hi Irene,

Your poor daughter. It's great news that the lymph nodes are clear. You know that post-surgery feeling - the results are now more scary than the operation.

I am hoping and praying that all will turn out well for her on 3rd April.

Kind regards,

Jolamine xx

Good luck with your mammo today Cornish. Thinking about you. Haven't had a result from mine yet.

Will let you all know how my daughter gets on next week. She finds out her treatment plan on the 3rd April. Really hoping she avoids chemo but she'll take whatever it needs to get rid of it for good.

Had a mad week with her last week. Washed curtains, cleared out drawers, cupboards and wardrobes. Took about 12 bags of rubbish to the tip. All very therapeutic.

Hope you're all keeping well - Irene x
