Feeling nauseous since biopsy

Hi, Ever since I had a biopsy 2 weeks ago I have felt sick. I have been diagnosed with DCIS which is freaking me out enough but has the biopsy spread the cancer which is why I feel sick? I might be being irrational about all this but I'm genuinely scared. Any advice gratefully received.

Many thanks,

Ali

  • Hello Ali54

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently been diagnosed with DCIS. I know from the many posts I read here on the forum that lots of our members have experienced nausea following a diagnosis. It's a natural albeit unpleasant reaction to the news and the anxiety that you're dealing with at the moment.

You might find it helpful to speak to one of our team of nurses. I'm sure they will be able to offer you some advice and reassurance that will hopefully help you feel less worried about things. If you'd like to speak to them they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Jenn,

Thanks for that! I also need to keep off google and expect the worse all the time. I know it's been a bad year for lots of people but I've had to place my mum into a nursing home due to her severe dementia and my dad died last week after being diagnosed with MND and then getting Covid which took him! Now my diagnosis with surgery due on the 23rd is playing on my mind. Sorry to go on but I'm not good at positive thinking at the moment.

its good to read other experiences on here and realise I'm not on my own though.
    Thanks once again,

    Ali
