Hi I am a newbie too, but have been reading this forum for a while. So sorry to hear about your father in law. i help my neighbour who is now in a nursing home but is in terminal decline from lung cancer, never smoked either.

I thought I would share that she struggles too with constipation, when she was in hospital they said the painkiller ie morphine will make it more difficult to go to the loo and she was on various laxatives. She did use senna when necessary, laxido a powder you dissolved (this helped too) she was already on lactulose but it wasnt enough. Hopefully if you contact the GP they can help prescribe another laxative. 

Also the same here with tiredness and not eating much.

my dad has the same. His has spread to lymph nodes and stomach. But he’s not been  ill and worked on roof a week before finding out and we didn’t even know until he had an X-ray because he had a cough for a little while. 

He has not smoked for 50+ years but he’s worked in building trade since school and it could also be asbestos fibres and mix of smoking all those years ago. We are devastated. They said because he is fit for his age they can offer immunotherapy but it won’t cure him and just help him.   He is struggling sometimes if goes for walk and got awful cough but he you would never know. 

We are so shocked.
