Faecal Calprotectin raised and blood on stool.

Hi there just looking for reassurance.

had a few issues including rectal bleeding when wiping for several months and blood on the outside of my stool on just one occasion (I did feel a sharp pain at the time so did assume it was a tear/haemorrhoid) and I do get pain in the area and have been told for the last 18 months it's probably a tear/fissure.

Eventually did a stool sample after mentioning this time it was on the outside of my stool. dr assumed ibs as I do get anxious.

The stool sample has come back aparently slightly raised at 120? I have to repeat it again in a few weeks

google is not helping to reassure me and I do suffer from health anxiety so Its hard not to go straight to the worst case scenario. 
 

i wonder has anyone else has similar problems with a positive outcome?

    Google is definitely not your best friend at the moment especially if you suffer from health anxiety so keep well away from it if you can as it will always give you the worst case scenario and make you even more anxious. 

    Try not to be alarmed by these slightly raised readings and just follow your doctor's advice and have it done again in a few weeks. You are in the best possible hands and your GP will know exactly what to do and will be able to advise you further on this once they have repeated the test. 

    I hope that you will hear from others here who have had similar issues and that they will share their stories with you.

    Thanks, it's just a case of waiting right now and the doctor said try not to worry. 
    just hope it was a one off and I can enjoy Christmas with my family instead of worrying all the time. X
