Has anyone had a endoscopy without sedation, was it ok? Does anyone with copd or asthma been able to have an endoscope with sedation? Thank you.

Hi [@Flower5757]
i have now had 3 endoscopes with sedation and have both COPD and brittle asthma.
They gave oxygen during the endoscopes and I had no breathing issues at all, either during or after.
I hope it all goes well for you.
Thank you. I'm not looking forward to it!
Hi,
I might be speaking 'out of turn ' here, but with my experience and my husbands to draw on.
Take everything that is offered !x
i did it with sedation many years ago and it was 'great'- didn't feel a thing or even remember anything. Got a taxi home and slept it off.
Husband didn't and well, I am still having the 'description' a year later LOL.
You wouldn't have been offered it, if you were not 'fit' enough.
Hi I have the endoscopy on monday and have not been 'offered it's as yet, it's an option along with throat spray on a standard medical form. I have copd so i wont find out until monday if I can have a sedation. I would prefer sedation, I assume it will depend what my heart rate and oxygen levels are on Monday.
