Endometrial, Stomach and Ovary cancer....

3 weeks ago we found out our lovely mum in law has cancer 6cm in endometriam 4cm on ovary and it has apparently spread to her stomach lining, and 3 possible nodes on lung the doctors haven’t given us a stage or anything yet (new to this not sure of terminology) she has Ascites already drained 16000mls and a week later it’s back even worse she can’t move she can’t eat and is getting more sleepy by the day. The doctors are reluctant to drain again saying if it effects her breathing they will drain She is unable to have surgery due to her size they said it’s too complicated. She has to have more biopsy’s done but they did say she could have 3-6 rounds of chemo, I guess my question is does this sound like terminal cancer and how long would she have if it is? I’m getting so frustrated with not knowing anything or having the full diagnosis as my mind is just constantly thinking what ifs anyone else had a similar experience please share with me I have no clue what to expect

  • Hi Sammilou41,

Welcome to Cancer Chat and I'm really sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. Only her team will be able to tell you how agressive this is, so it's best to share your concerns with them. Hopefully our members are able to share similar experiences, but we also have a team of nurses if you have any further queries. You can call them for free on 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Sorry I can't be of more help but all the best to you,
