Endometrial biopsy - referred to cancer consultant

I am in my early 70s. In June I started  having problems with watery bleeding  which was diagnosed  to be  result of trapped kidney stone. . In course of full range of tests: blood, urine, kub  CT scan, had vaginal exam.  Revealed small amount of blood and referred to Gynae Rapid access clinic for transvaginal ultrasound. This showed thicker endometrium and two large polyps in uterus..Nothing untoward seen and we discussed removing polyps in Gynae clinic under  local. anaesthetic. However  decided to have general  anaesthetic in day surgery as polyps were large and high up.  Took a month or so to fix a date, due to intervening UTI  and then had to get my blood pressure down first but went ahead just under 2 weeks ago. Procedure was by hysteroscopy and included an endometrial biopsy as routine. Surgeon said afterwards had been successful and would send biopsy result back to Rapid Access clinic who made original referral.

Yesterday got a phone call from gynae  rapid access clinic saying Multi disciplinary  team had met in morning   and as a result Mr. R wanted to see me today at midday and will come over to Gynae unit specially. I was advised to bring someone with me for the meeting. I looked up Mr.R and he leads the gynaecology cancer surgery team. I have not been treated in his team to date. So it is not looking good. I am a bit stunned as there has been no indication up till now that I had anything more than "routine" polyps. Can anyone tell me what I might expect to hear? Does the endometrial biopsy show if cancer cells are present or anything more?. Wouldn't something obvious have shown up on the CT scan or TVUS.previously ? I had been reassured that it was just a routine polyps removal.
