Endless journey

I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in February ,quite a shock as I thought I had a uti infection. Well after one cycle of Bev, Taxo and Carbo ,followed by a cycle of Taixo and Carbo my life has changed completely, no gym ,too  exhausted, no swimming ,no long walks ,no appetite or weird appetite ,very tearful, ,grateful for the wonderful treatment I've received. Scan showed I now have a blood clot in my lung ,so no surgery that I was due for in June ,so back on Carbo only , ,the good news folks is my tumour had shrunk by half ,yippee , so I'll keep plodding along cheerfully ,well most days. Oh I now have a blue belly ,due to bruising from the clot busting injections.,

  • Hello fenlander,

These side effects from your treatment for ovarian cancer are quite common, but I can understand that this would be frustrating for you, particulary as you seem like an active person. We have a section here, which offers tips for coping with the side effects of cancer drugs, including the ones you're taking. On the plus side, it's great to hear your tumour has shrunk so much and I hope, with these tips, you'll have a bit more energy to get back to the activities you love doing. While it may seem like an endless journey, things are progressing well.

    All the best,
