    Hi Shellie,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis. There are many ladies on this site with ductal carcinoma., who are further down the line than you and doing well. I'm sure that some of them will come along to chat to you soon.

Do you have a date for your lumpectomy yet? I have had a lumpectomy and it was very straightforward - much easier than I imagined. Radiotherapy is a pain, because you have to attend 5 days a week, but you'll get through it.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you're coping with your diagnosis. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Thanks Lara for the reply and hope you ok now. Yes it was a shock but have the results now and hopefully will get a date tomorrow that I can work to for the lumpectomy xx

  • Shellie

lunpectomy is a very easy operation I promise you I was out shopping next day Lippy on out the door was bored stiff sat at home .

I finished treatments in nov and started  the tablets please don't worry about these either you hear lots of horrid stories but for me I have had minor effects I have put on weight that's probably my own fault and not the tablets lol

we are all here for you to help you along

    love Lara ️

  • Hi Jolamine,

Thanks so much for the reply..  It was good to know how you thought about lumpectomy, makes me feel better. I am new on here today and reading other peoples experiences is comforting.  I am just waiting to see the consultant tomorrow for a date.  I have had the results from the biopsys so know the plan. Thank you for messaging xx

  • Oh Thank you Lara.  I have probably been reading too much on internet about the tablets after.  To read your message is very comforting . I jam just waiting till tomorrow now.

    Thank you for info x

  • HI [@shellie7]‍

You will get loads of support from the wonderful people here. I was where you are now in 2020 and no longer have any evidence of the disease, and I have been fortunate enough to have had  2 clear mammograms since then. Like you I had a lumpectomy, sentinel node biopsy, radiotherapy, and I am now on tamoxifen. As horrendous as it all is it is all doable. I was the same as [@laraj]‍  up and out the next day, the worst part was the TED stockings I had to wear for 2 weeks after. Wishing you all the very best of luck for your treatment and beyond and please ask if you have any questions xx

  • Hi 123nelly,

That's great to hear, many thanks.  Just reading updates like your brightens the day. Hoping for a date tomorrow when I see the consultant for the op.   But already know the plan and results -that was hard waiting for them.

    Many Thanks xx

  • Shelly

As 123 Nelly said the stockings are so sexy lol they drove me mad to I was so looking fab with them on

    love Lara

    Hi Shellie,

I hope that all goes well tomorrow. It becomes easier to deal with once you start getting treated.

    Kind regards,
