Examinations, especially in intimate areas, can be very mentally and physically challenging but as you've pointed out in your post, they are a necessity that we have to go through to keep ourselves safe. Hopefully in time more progess and developments will be made to make these tests and exams much easier but in the meantime, we need to keep working with our doctors and nurses to make sure we are as comfortable and relaxed as possible when these take place.
