Delayed treatment !

Hi,

my sisters was diagnosed with secondary bone cancer in the 12 November. It has been a long process in fighting to get her the immunotherapy treatment and waiting for the results. It has been confirmed this morning that she is able to have treatment but they might not be able to give her the drug for another week.

We are waiting to hear if it's a funding thing or the availability of the drug.

Does any one have advice on how we can speed it up.

She had 4 nodes on her body two weeks ago and now there is 7.

We want the best treatment for her and her kids !

  • Hello Monday81,

I am really sorry to hear about your sister's diagnosis. It's great though that you have managed to get her access to this immunotherapy treatment. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long now for the treatment to start but if you wanted to see whether treatment could begin earlier, it might be a good idea to get in touch with your sister's medical team and discuss with them what the earliest possible date might be.

Your sister is very lucky to have your support and I hope the treatment goes well for her and proves effective. If at any point you wanted to talk to our nurses, you are welcome to ring them on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

Best wishes to you and your sister,
