Hi, I was told October last year that I have low grade DCIS in my left breast, I had mammograms and then a biopsy. I was told that I only had 2mm which was found on the scans, and that it can only been see on the scan and not by eye at this stage. I was told that I needed an op to remove, so I had the wire put in and had the op, they said that they would remove about 6mm to get the clear tissues. I went back after 2 weeks for the results and wax told that yes it had not spread but they didn't have clear tissues so was going to have to have another op. My letter told me that they had found 40mm of DCIS in the first op. Had seconded op and now have clear tissues and they found another 2.5mm. Because now they found 42.5mm of DCIS now waiting to see the oncologist to see if I need radio. Any idea how much radio I may new if I need it?
my question is that if the scan only found 2mm and it turned out to be 42.5mm what else have they missed?
and if they knew it was this size at the beginning would they have offered me a mastectomy?
thanks
