not unusual to get wound infection. 4mm invasive is tiny, if they were anticipating anything in lymph nodes they would be preparing you for it. No guarantees nothing will be there but the odds look good given the size of your tumour. Try and relax, I know how hard it is to gear up for another operation but the SNB is a simple and quick op - you’ll be up and running about in no time :)

for me I counted down my op as I knew it would be the last + I knew everything about my dx at that point so looking forward to getting it over with and moving on with my life. X

I am glad to hear that you are going back to your GP today. If s/he is concerned about the slough left, you will probably be given more antibiotics. As Magpie Maggie has already said, it is fairly common to have an infection and is usually easily sorted.

I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer within the past 10 years, as well as a number of other lesions which needed to be tested. I had to get antibiotics for a few of these and,  sometimes needed a second or third course.

The main thing is to keep returning to your GP, until it is fully healed. That way you should be ready for surgery on 15th.

I hope that you get your wound healed up soon and that it's full steam ahead for 15th.

GP was very happy with wound, antibiotics seem to have done their job, even though swab not back yet!  No more antibiotics. I told her I was using manuka honey medical grade cream wound gel, expecting her to say it was hocus pocus, but she said there was good evidence this worked and the wound had healed really well, so I'm getting another tube of this stuff for the next op! 

I will drink to that, that's if I did any more!

I'm so glad to hear that your GP was happy with your wound. Manuka honey is well respected in the medical field.
