Dad has just been diagnosed with Lung Cancer

My dad had a sore chest and back so went to the GP.  Within 3 days he had an x-ray, CT scan and blood tests. Yesterday my dad was told he had lung cancer which has spread to the liver and lymph nodes. We are all devastated and are in shock and don’t know where to turn.  He is getting a biopsy done this week with a meeting early March to discuss treatment.  He is only 63 and has so much to live for.

I was due to attend a work conference today but couldn’t face it. Instead I will visit my mum and dad.

Has anyone else had experience of lung cancer?

    Hello from Nepal, 

    Very sad to hear about your dad. My mom is also suffering from 4th stage lung cancer & she is just 50. It's very difficult time for us. She is going through lot of pain as it has also spread through bones. Very tough to see the strongest person I have known in such condition. 

    But still we are giving our best by spending time with her, holding hands,  talking about past good times. 

    I pray for your dad & hope that treatment would start earliest.

    Hello Nepal, sorry to hear about your mum also, she is so young. It is such a shock for us, we have to to wait another week to find out about any treatments. Already the doctor is talking about short terms and months.
