Hi there ..sorry to hear about your dad ... hope he's recovering from his op .... only guessing but I would have thought , it would be sent to lab to get more info to give you ... unfortunately it all takes time but once they know, they will have a clearer picture, where to go from there ... it is all about 'waiting' for appointments/ tests / results and hospital admissions too ... 

we have nearly all been there and I think the waiting was the worse, and we have no choice and no easy way through, but we know just how tough it is ..
