Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand your worries but try not to assume anything at this point. Hopefully it won't be long to wait for the referral, and in the meantime try to keep yourself busy if you can, to keep your mind off things. 

It may help to make a note of your worries and then to try not to dwell on it too much, but to take these notes/questions to your appointment when you have it.
