Coping with my loss

My partner aged 49 passed away 3 weeks ago after a short 5 week battle with Ovarian Cancer. She had no symptoms prior to Feb of this year, i am really struggling to understand how this happened and if i/we could have done anything else to save her and get the issue diagnosed earlier. Life feels unjust at the moment that my soulmate can be taken in this quick way without any time to make plans or enjoy our final days together. She entered hospital for chemo at the start of those 5 weeks but never came out making the whole situation even more difficult to cope with. We must encourage more and more research into Ovarian cancer so that testing takes place earlier to ensure others do not go through this same pain.

I have a just giving page in my partners memory, explaining our journey and sharing memories, please look, donations are for cancer research.

  • I'm sorry to be welcoming you to the forum under these circumstances Hugme and would like to offer you my heartfelt condolences on the passing of your partner 3 weeks ago.

Many of our members have experienced the loss of a partner or loved one from cancer, some quickly like yourself and others over a longer period of time, and know how difficult this time can be and I'm sure some of them will be along soon to offer their support and advice.

I'm including a section we have on our website about coping with grief for you to have a look at but do continue to chat to us here on the forum if you feel it is helping you as you will find many kindred spirits going on this journey with you.

Good luck with your fundraising Hugme, my thoughts are with you at this time.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
