Hi Jemma!
I started Nivulumab on August 2016 , doagnosed with NSCLC with Mets stage IV. As chemo didn't worked for me. Side effects i had>> dry Mouth, Muscle pain, both gone now, itchy skin still a bit, and my Thyroids are playing up, getting meds for it . My last CT in Jan 2019, said i'm NED !! No evidence of desease. !!
So for me, worth the side effects.
Petra
Hi Jem14
My husband is currenty on a trial using Nivolumab alongside the normal chemo, he's had 3 IV sessions of the Nivolumab and the 1st IV of chemo, so far side affects haven't been bad, he gets very tired. a little itchy for a day or 2 after the IV, he has the tingling fingertips but not in all fingers and now after the chemo he feels the cold something terrible (needs to wear gloves to go in the fridge)
Pros for going on it -
it's been proved in some types of cancers
If you don't try it you can't say it doesn't work
You get very close monitoring from the trial team
Cons for it -
Can't think of a single one
Thank you so much Petra for your help.
