Confused about mammogram recall

Hi everyone

I was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer 2 years ago and currently on weekly Taxol, which seems to be keeping the cancer under control.

I went for a routine 3 yearly mammogram last week and received a letter today explaining that further tests are needed. Ironically, I believe Taxol is one of the chemos used to treat breast cancer. It's all very confusing and worrying. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience?

Thanks

    Hi Velvet,

I don't have ovarian cancer,  but I have had a recall following a routine mammogram. I was lucky that further tests didn't show anything untoward and had a number of years after that before I discovered a lump in my breast. Unfortunatelly, this one was the real thing and I had a lumpectomy. The following year I had a second bout and had a double mastectomy.

I was diagnosed with a rare cancer which only affects 1% of people and it doesn't always show up on mammogram or ultrasound. Luckily it's not a very aggressive form of cancer and I am still here 8 years later.

Please let us know how you get on. As you are aware we are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
