Concerned non-urgent referral incorrect

Hi Everyone

About 2 months ago my dentist found a hard, painless lump on my gum that I hadn't even realised was there.

She couldn't find a dental cause (but I do need a filling in the tooth below so she says that may be linked) so put through a normal, non-urgent referral.

Since then I have worried for hours everyday that the referral possibly should've been an urgent 2-week referral, and perhaps the dentist didn't know the signs or oral cancer well enough.

I am 24, a non-smoker and feel normal in myself, but the hard lump is still there and I can't help but be worried that something was missed. It has taken a serious toll on my mental health.

I unfortunately cannot get another dentist appointment until next year, or I would have already arranged one to voice my concerns.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with the dentist? How did it go?

Thank you for reading
