Hiya shazza.  I think you need to talk gently with your partner about what she is going through.  She has had a big physical shock and may have fears about her mortality and be questioning everything she thought she knew about her life.  Just be gentle with her feelings and listen to what she has to say.  She may think she is protecting you by not being too close.  I really don't know though and think this is something you should work through.  Just let her know you love her and want to help her with whatever she is experiencing.  These are just my thoughts however and I may be wrong!  Annie
