Clear margins

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in July,  on the 17th August I had a lumpectomy and axillary clearance,  2 weeks later I went for the results and was told I didn't have stage 2 breast cancer,  I had stage 3 and they had removed 18 lymph nodes of which 13 were cancerous,  I also needed a re-incision to get clear margins,  on the 17th Sept I had another operation to remove more cells , I also had to have a CT scan and bone scan .

Today I went to get the results and was told they had clear margins which was good news , the brown scan was clear , but they found a nodule on my lung which they are giving me another CT scan in 3-4 months and will keep an eye on the nodule,  they also found a lump on my kidney which again will be kept an eye on , they are planning a scan for that, I don't know when etc because stupidly I didn't think to ask questions ‍♀️.

As anyone else had this?

I'm meeting with the oncologist tomorrow to discuss chemo, radiotherapy and other treatments for the breast cancer.

  • I has several MRIs CT scans, US and they told me had modes on lung but would do nothing. Had far more breast removed during op. Other breast had lumps they said was cysts on scans, yet told me the cancerous one was normal before did biopsy. Should I demand they biopsy left breast and rethink lung nodule. Sick of crap communication, delays over 18months, poor excuses by this appalling trust. Truly am hacked off with the mistreatment I have had so far.

  • I guess I've been lucky , I was diagnosed in June and things have been all go since then , not even had time to process it all really .

I'm sorry you're experiencing this and if you're worried,  yes you should demand they look at the lumps properly,  tell them how you feel etc.
