So Glad To Have Found This Tread, I've only one Chemotherapy Session Done So Far, I'm on 2 different Chemo's, And that One Went Fine, Felt Nausea But didn't get sick, nurses in my ward told me I snored like a horse for hours after it,I was Mortified lol,

Hoping my bloods are up enough to take next week Session,Love And Hugs To You All,x

  • Hi angel some people have no side effects at all others get everything going, it also depends on the type and strength of treatment hope you continue to be lucky. Best wishes. Billy

  • Thank you Billy, my biggest problem is the fear, fear of the unknown I suppose, trying so hard to stay positive,x

  • Hi Angel

what chemo you on?  I was on a combo of capecitabine and oxiplatine for bowel cancer ... excuse spelling, I had very few side effects  and anything I had they seemed to have a magic pill that sorted it . I worked throughout my chemo on the days I didn't have intravenous.

You right about the unknown, we all fear it, so you not alone.

    Best wishes

    JBee x

  • Hi there, I have just finished 6 cycles of fec chemo, everyones journey is different, stay positive,  I really believe it helps, use the support around you xx

  • Angel

Although am on different chemo drugs (had 4 x EC and about to start paclitaxel) and different cancer (breast) it is a fact that all respond differently so don't be put off by those who respond badly (they may be the most vocal on here, but with good reason). I have not, like many others on the same treatment plan, had any sickness & nausea and the worst side effects for me were constipation and feeling a bit rough (like a bad hangover), so in short I have been very lucky, but am not alone.  I have been able to exercise and eat normally throughout (though have gone off alcohol & pizza - the worst thing ever!).

I opted for a port (vs PICC) as am lazy and have not looked back, best decision ever.

I hope your anxiety improves, may be worth a chat to someone (doctor, MacMillan) who will be able to provide some support/advice in this respect.  Do also check out courses available through MacMillan and also "look good, feel better" which I promise will cheer you up!

    Good luck with your treatment

    Sam X
