chemotherapy and surgery on the same day

Hi my doctors have been very confusing they are discussing me having surgery to remove a tumour from my throat then to start chemotherapy on the same day as the surgery but I have the option to do them seperately. I was wondering if anyone else has had this and what it will be like in terms of recovery and side effects, as I have not heard of them doing this before. 

  • Welcome to the forum Abi although I'm sorry to see that your doctors have been confusing you about your surgery and chemo.

    Hopefully other members who have been in a similar situation will reply soon but I just wanted to give you our cancer nurses telephone number in case you wanted to discuss this with them. Their freephone number is 0808 800 4040 and they are available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.
